e92plus have announced a partnership with iboss, a leader in cloud delivered network security, to grow their partner community and take their industry-leading, SASE cloud network security services to market to secure organisations and their employees on any device, from any location, in the cloud.

iboss recently announced it has raised $145 million in new funding, supporting the company’s rapid growth as organizations increasingly recognize iboss as the leading provider of cutting-edge network security through the cloud. With iboss' success also recognised by leading analysts, the company is the ideal place as COVID-19 accelerates the ongoing shift to cloud-based cybersecurity providers.

The iboss cloud platform eliminates the need for traditional network security appliances by delivering all of the network security capabilities in the cloud via a SaaS offering. iboss ensures a smoother and more seamless transition to the cloud than any other security vendor on the market with its cutting-edge technology and unique patented containerized cloud architecture. Users are always connected to iboss cloud, regardless of device or location, to ensure all Internet traffic is secured for compliance, web filtering, malware defence and data loss at all times.

The market has rapidly changed in 2020, and we’ve seen organisations migrate to the cloud in weeks rather than years” comments Mukesh Gupta, CEO and Founder of e92plus. “These rapid changes have emphasised the need for a cloud first approach, and the iboss approach provides an exciting addition to our portfolio, especially their ability for customers to retain control through containers while leveraging the agility and performance benefits of a cloud native platform”.

The market is embracing a cloud-first approach, and we’re excited to be working with e92plus accelerate cloud adoption and help channel partners simplify cloud-based network security for customers of all sizes. For Zero Trust and SASE models, the iboss platform provides the perfect foundation. This enables users to be the most productive as they work from any location by providing the necessary fast and secure connections to the cloud applications they use every day,” said Paul Martini, iboss Co-founder and CEO. “e92plus will help iboss scale in UK&I as channel partners assist their customers in establishing and executing against a zero-trust strategy and SASE model to support today’s evolving workplace.”

The benefits and potential savings of using iboss have been highlighted in a report this year, produced in partnership with IDC 1. Key highlights included:
- 37% lower 3-year cost of operations
- 275% 3-year ROI
- 4 months payback period

The report also found that “iboss cloud was light years ahead of what we were using in terms of security functionality. The price factor was also important – when it came to iboss versus the other solutions we considered, iboss was a lot more affordable.” 1

For our partner community, iboss enables them to help their customers break from free on-premise restrictions and embrace the scale and flexibility of the cloud” explains Mukesh Gupta. “Increasingly customers are looking at alternatives to legacy VPNs or on-premise gateways that require unnecessary data backhaul and additional complexity. The iboss cloud-first approach offers an exciting new approach to cloud security and Zero Trust Network Access, and a vendor that’s highly ranked by leading analysts yet offers fantastic opportunity for growth. The major investment in them validates the huge potential for the company, and why they represent a significant opportunity for partners looking to replace legacy solutions”.

What can cybersecurity expect to see in the next 12 months?

January 2021

2020 was a year that none of us expected, with a global pandemic that turned our lives, jobs and communities upside down. The technology world was no different, with Satya Nadella of Microsoft summing it up - "we've seen two years' worth of digital transformation in two months".However, while the threat landscape evolved and adapted (not least targeting vulnerable/opportune industries such as healthcare or pharmaceuticals), one thing stayed true - the risks and rewards grew alongside the volume and sophistication of attacks. The threat vectors changed (not least WFH employees accessing corporate networks through BYOD, home routers and outside the protective office environment) and we all needed to adapt. As we enter 2021, it's hard to know the next big change. However, it's essential to look forward and work together to help protect users and organisations. Here are some highlights from our partners on what 2021 might bring.Turning the Tide: Trend Micro Security Predictions for 2021 The seismic events of 2020 have created long-lasting changes in work environments across the globe and opened up new avenues that cybercriminals can abuse. Cybersecurity will help enterprises, governments, and ordinary users adapt safely to these new conditions in 2021.https://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/us/security/research-and-analysis/predictions/2021Bitdefender look ahead at the Threat Landscape of 2021As 2020 has come to an end, Bitdefender are already exploring what will happen next year and getting their defences ready. So what are the major cyber-security related changes and events that can be expected in the cyber landscape over the next 12 months?  Here are the predictions broken down into three key areas:  COVID-19 related developments; malware, privacy and cyber-conflicts; and emerging 5G and IoT platforms.https://blog.checkpoint.com/2020/11/10/check-point-softwares-predictions-for-2021-securing-the-next-normal/What’s next for MSPs and SMBs after a year that changed everything, by ConnectWiseThe idea of making predictions after 2020 seems silly. Two highlights for e92plus in the 2020 CRN Awards

November 2020

2020 is a year like no other, and the CRN Awards were no different. One of the undoubted highlights of the IT channel calendar, normally a dark night in November sees over 1,500 people descend on Battersea Park to celebrate the great achievements of their company, customers and partners, to meet up with friends old and new, and maybe consume the odd drink or two. In Covid-19 times, of course, there’s no option for a physical event. However, the show must go on and the CRN Awards went virtual. It was a great show as ever, if a little different, and excellently hosted by Colin Murray (who as a radio presenter, at least has experience of not seeing his audience). After a fantastic run of success (including winning awards for the last 3 years in a row), e92plus were shortlisted once again – this time for Security Distributor of the Year and overall Distributor of the Year (sub £250m turnover). Sadly, we were beaten to the post in two of the most competitive, highly fought categories, not least against much larger competitors. However, we were incredibly proud to be Highly Commended in both categories, which is fantastic recognition of our growth and success, and the commitment we have to providing outstanding service to our partners, and continuing to innovate as we transform what distribution brings to the channel for cybersecurity and cloud solutions. A big thank you to all our partners for their support, and hopefully we’ll all be back in Battersea Park in 2021….and we’ll certainly be looking to reclaim that glassware!
