Xirrus 802.11n Arrays Increase User Density at Buckland Primary School
December 18, 2009
Buckland Primary School Found Xirrus to be the Only Wi-Fi Vendor Capable of Providing the User Density and Mobility Required to Cover Their Educational Facilities
Xirrus, Inc, the Wi-Fi "Power-Play" that delivers the most coverage, bandwidth, and user density in the industry, announced today the deployment of Xirrus high performance 802.11n Wi-Fi Arrays throughout the Buckland Primary School campus located just outside London. This co-educational school, built in 1953, has approximately 300 pupils between the ages 4-11 years and roughly 30 staff members. The recent deployment of Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays provides Buckland school with a wireless network robust enough to handle the student density problems other Wi-Fi struggled to achieve.
Talking about their decision to deploy Xirrus equipment, Roger Perry, ICT Subject Leader at Buckland Primary School, said, "Before we had contacted Xirrus, we had several people come in and talk to us about Wi-Fi and we had a lot of problems and obstacles… Xirrus was the first company that came and said, ‘We can do it - We can give every single user Wi-Fi, all at the same time.' The bottom line is that we're able to cover every single classroom all at the same time. Nobody else could get near that and that was the ultimate reason for going with Xirrus."
Roger continued explaining the benefits of choosing Xirrus by saying, "The installation of the Wi-Fi probably took the least amount of time in our whole ICT development… The Wi-Fi took literally a half-day which was brilliant for us because you know we've got to start school, the kids come back, we can't hang around – we've got deadlines! But we were in and out while everyone else was still building and wiring and cabling."
